ok so to summarise the task i have to consider scenario where the patient comes to you, you gave her all the medications that normally would work 100% on all patients, yet here it has no effect. Its obvious the patient didn't stick to the treatment you recommended. And the question is: how would you deal with a patient in such a situation? i don't know what to say to patients then, how to respond? any ideas? :)

I'd ask the patient his/her reasons for not following the recommended treatment. Listen to what the patient says -- and you may get an idea about how to help.

When my mother, who had Alzheimers, had just moved to a senior citizens home, her opthalmologist saw that she was not using her eyedrops. He told me to get the nurse to administer the drops.
