You turn the percent into a decimal by moving the decimal point two places to the left. Then multiply. For instance -- 30% = 0.3. So 30% of 256 = 0.3 * 256.

You turn the fraction into a decimal by dividing the numerator by the denominator and then multiplying.

If you post your answers, we'll be glad to check them.

It might be easiest to first write your comparison as a fraction..55/100, 13/39, etc. Then you put you denominator (bottom number) on the outside of a division problem and it will give you the decimal. 55 divided by 100
13 divided by 39
2.5 divided by 10, etc.
Good luck!

The word "of" in a math problem almost always indicates that you'll need to multiply:

14. 30% of 256 = .30 x 256 = ?

15. 25% of 2,048 = .25 x 2048 = ?
(Broken Link Removed)

16. 2/3 of 24 = 2/3 x 24/1 = ?

17. 5/6 of 90 = 5/6 x 90/1 = ?

13 out of 39 = 13/39
Divide 39 into 13

2.5 out of 10 = 2.5/10
Divide 10 into 2.5

Answered by Writeacher
To divide 13 into 39 is the same thing as to dive 39 by 13 -- different way to say it, but the process is the same.
