Well, proclamation aka royal, was an announcement that had the force of law, it cut off land speculation to the west of applachian mountains, this meant that settlers from the 13 colonies could not move into the ohio valley and other desirable areas. it also meant that the native peoples would satisfied, because the settlers and traders would not be able to enter their territory without permission. and it was an important event.

Thank You ! oh and if you don't mind answering another question, why do you think the american declaration of independence failed to end the fighting between Britain and the colonies i really don't understand, it doesnt say in my book.

The Declaration of Independence began the fighting. Britain didn't want to lose these colonies, the land, the income, and resources they provided Britain.
