Tim and Kim are twins. At birth, Kim weighed 3 pounds more that 2/3 of Tim's weight. If Kim weighed 6 1/2 pounds at birth,how much did Tim weigh at birth?

Kim weighed 6.5lbs which is the same as 2/3t+3. so 6.5=3+2/3t
3.5=2/3t
t=5.25
