can someone check and see if i did this right


x+2y=8
x-x+2y=8-x
2y=8-x
2y/2=8/2-x
y=4-x
y=4-x/2
y=4-1/2x

I answered this down below when she posted first.
x+2y=8
x-x+2y=8-x
2y=8-x
2y/2=8/2-x This line and next - divide x by 2
y=4-x
y=4-x/2 Error fixed.
y=4-1/2x

I see from Damon's answer that I should have gone through the math. I didn't do that. I just looked at the answer and wrote my response. Therefore, I didn't pick up on the errors in the work. I also suspect I should have written the asnwer as y = 4-(1/2)x to reduce any doubt as to the meaning of the equation.
