0 = 5+2(3+4x)
Subtract 5 from both sides
-5 = 2(3+4x)
Distribute the 2
-5 = 2(3) + 2(4x)
Simplify
-5 = 6 + 8x
Subtract 6 from both sides
-11 = 8x
Divide both sides by 8.
-11/8 = x
y = 5-2(3+4x)
0 = 5-2(3+4x)
-5 = -2(3+4x)
-5 = -6 - 8x
1 = -8x
-1/8 = x
Now you try the last one
Subtract 5 from both sides
-5 = 2(3+4x)
Distribute the 2
-5 = 2(3) + 2(4x)
Simplify
-5 = 6 + 8x
Subtract 6 from both sides
-11 = 8x
Divide both sides by 8.
-11/8 = x
y = 5-2(3+4x)
0 = 5-2(3+4x)
-5 = -2(3+4x)
-5 = -6 - 8x
1 = -8x
-1/8 = x
Now you try the last one
