                Assume the mass of the object remains constant. If the Kinetic Energy of an object changes by 1/3, by what factor has its speed changed?

    When you say "changes by 1/3", I assume you mean the KE becomes 1/3 of the original value, NOT a 33.33% higher value. 
1/sqrt3 = 0.5774
