1) What is 5/6 - 7/9?

2) Della wants to open a daycare center and saved 2/5 of the amount needed for start-up costs. If she saves another 1/8 of the necessary amount and then 1/6 more, find the total portion of start-up costs she had saved.

For number 1, I can't find the matching denominator because 6 multiplied by 2 doesn't go into 9.

It's 18. Do I have to multiply 6 times 3 and 9 times 2. I'm really having a hard time with this question.
