Consider the following chemical reaction:
NaOH +HC1 -> NaC1 + H20
When 36.5 g of HC1 are reacted with 40.0 g of NaOH , how many grams of water are produced along with 58.5 g of NaC1?
NaOH +HC1 -> NaC1 + H20
When 36.5 g of HC1 are reacted with 40.0 g of NaOH , how many grams of water are produced along with 58.5 g of NaC1?

..........NaOH + HCl ==> NaCl + H2O
moles NaOH = grams/molar mass = 40/40 = 1.o mole.
moles HCl = 36.5/36.5 = 1.0 mole
So 1 mole reacts with 1 mol to produce 1 mole of NaCl(58.5g) and 1 mole H2O.
grams H2O = mole x molar mass = ??
