Because Earth is so far inside Jupiter's orbit, we on Earth always see most or all of Jupiter's solar-illuminated surface. To the eye, it looks "full" all the time

There is a slightly gibbous phase when Jupiter and sun are at about 90 degrees apart in direction. At these times, Jupiter will still appear almost circular, but one edge or the other may be dark for a few degrees of longitude.
