5a-3/a+7 = 5a-14/a+1

so i find that only lowest common denominator for equation is (a+7)(a+1)

(a+7)(a+1)(5a-3/a+7) = (5a-14/a+1)(a+7)(a+1)

in first part i get rid of a+7's and in second part i get rid of a+1's.

(a+1)(5a-3) = (5a-14)(a+7)

5a^2+2a-3 = 5a^2+21a-98

now i not know if 5a^2's add with each other.

They don't add together.
Subtract 5a^2 from both sides:

2a-3 = 21a-98
95 = 19a
a = 5
thanks so much Steve :)
