Fator the trinomial:

4) 2
p + 10p +25

6) 2
y - 5y -24

8) 2
n + 2n -48

10) 2
y + 17y + 72 = 0

12) 2
w - 13w + 42 = 0

1 answer

I will do one of them, the others are done the same way

12)
I will assume you meant w^2 - 13w + 42 = 0

Can you think of two numbers which when multiplied yield 42 , and which when added yield -13 ?
how about - 6 and -7 ??
so
x^2 - 13w + 42 = 0
(w-6)(w-7) = 0

check by expanding the answer.
