three men and their wives were given $5400. the wives together received $2400. sue had $200 more than jan, and ellen had 200 more then sue. who was married to whom?

1 answer

s = j+200
e = s + 200
j+s+e = 24
j+j+200+j+400 = 3j+600=2400
jan got 600
sue got 800
ellen got 1000

adds up to 2400

The men got 1000 each.

All the wives are married to their husbands.
