Were the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean once united, like were they once ONE COUNTRY? Because some Chinese and Korean words sound alike. Some Japanese and Chinese words look alike. Was there histiry behind this?

Korea, China, and Japan have always been independent countries, except for brief times throughout their long histories.
