Were the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean once united, like were they once ONE COUNTRY? Because some Chinese and Korean words sound alike. Some Japanese and Chinese words look alike. Was there histiry behind this?

Korea, China, and Japan have always been independent countries, except for brief times throughout their long histories.

However, because they're neighbors, they've influenced each other in customs and languages. Check out these articles about the histories of the Japanese and Korean people and their languages.
