im not sure how to do this i know i need to add up but not sure if im right

i need to find the mean of each set of data i know to find the mean i add all the numbers , then divide by the total numbers that were added
1) would be divided by 8
2) would be divided by 7
but im not sure how to add up all these numbers

Positive numbers: 3 + 6 + 7 + 8 = 24

Negative numbers: -6 -2 - 3 - 5 = -16

24 - 16 = 8
