Find the distance between point R (5,6) and point S (-2,0). Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Draw a right triangle with RS as the hypotenuse, with legs parallel to the axes. Then the right angle will be at either (5,0) or (-2,6).In either case, the legs have length 6 and 7, so RS has length sqrt(36+49) = 9.2
