Point M is the midpoint of line JK. If JM is 6x-7 and MK is 2x+3 what is JK?

3 answers

JK = 6x-7 + 2x+3 = 8x - 4

6x-7 = 2x +3

Solve for x and put value in first equation.

6x-7=2x+3
-2x -2x substitute x
4x-7=3 6(5/2)-7
+7 +7 15-7=8
4x=10 Number 8 is the answer.
divide both by 4. Then you will get x=5/2. ^^^
