c = chickens
s = sheep
c+s = 25
2 c + 4 s = 72 or c + 2 s = 36
from first equation c = 25-s
so
25 - s + 2 s = 36
s = 11
then c = 14
s = sheep
c+s = 25
2 c + 4 s = 72 or c + 2 s = 36
from first equation c = 25-s
so
25 - s + 2 s = 36
s = 11
then c = 14

25(animals)*2(legs)=50 legs, we tack just two legs for both.
72-50=22
22/2=11 sheep’s
25-11=14 chickens
Check:
11*4=44
14*2=28
44+28=72
