Combine common terms by subtracting x and 8 from both sides.

2 = x

Substitute that value into the equation.

x + 10 = 2x + 8 = 2 opposite sides.

2x - x = 10-8,
X = 2.

2 + 10 = 2*2 + 8,
12 = 12 = The 2 opposite sides.
