There are a total of 107 chickens and rabbits on a farm. The total number of legs of rabbits is 56 more than the total number of legs of chickens. How many chickens are there on the farm?

C + R = 107 Therefore R = 107-C

4R - 2C = 56

Substitute 107-C for R in second equation and solve for C. Insert that value into the first equation and solve for R. Check by inserting both values into the second equation.
