Question
1/5 of bees flew to Kadamba, 1/3 flew to Silandhara, 3 times the difference of these 2 numbers flew to arbor and 1 bee is still flying. Find the number of bees.
Answers
X = The total # of bees.
x/5 +x/3 + 3(x/3-x/5) + 1 = X,
LCM = 15:
3x/15 + 5x/15 + 3(5x/15-3x/15) + 1 = X,
3x/15 + 5x/15 + 15x/15-9x/15 + 1 = X,
14x/15 = X-1,
Multiply both sides by 15:
14x = 15X - 15,
14x - 15x = -15,
-x = -15,
x = 15 Bees.
x/5 +x/3 + 3(x/3-x/5) + 1 = X,
