I wonder if there is a point where emphasizing the language skills on to a young child may actually have a negative impact on their socialization?

The language skills I am referring to are, the learning-theory approach, nativst approach and the interactionist approach are the language skills being emphasized.

I don't know of any negatives in these approaches.

It would depend on <I>how</I> the language skills were emphasized. Is punishment involved? Modeling?
