Almost any pure material has a higher melting point than the same impure material. With gold, that is true for 10k, 14k, and 18k yellow gold. It is also true for white gold UNLESS it is alloyed with Pd. White gold made with Pd has a higher melting point than pure yellow gold. That is true for both 14k and 18K.
