The momentum of a car traveling east is different from the momentum of an identical car traveling west at the same speed. Momentum is a measure that includes both the mass and the velocity of an object. The two cars have identical mass (I am assuming they have identical mass because it did not state it in the question) but they do not have the same velocity as they are traveling in opposite directions. Therefore, they would have equal but opposite values for momentum.

I hope this helps!
