Answers

Ms. Sue
A famine is caused by poor soil and/or inadequate rainfall. People who rely on crops they can grow and livestock that can graze are left with little if any food.

Often outside groups try to get food to those affected by famine, but corrupt governments and other political forces refuse to allow the delivery of these food supplies.
