Translate the following situation into an equation. Do not solve. There are seven less than twice the marbles in Tim's box as there are in Amelia's box. Chris has six more marbles than Amelia. How many marbles does Amelia have if together the three of them have 95 marbles?

2a-7 = t
c = a+6
a+t+c = 95
so
a + 2a -7 + a+6 = 95


4a = 96
a = 24 etc
