A line with a slope of -2 passes through the point (1, 7). What is the closest point on the line above (1, 7) which has whole number coordinates?

It is easy to "step off" points above and below by using the rise/run = -2/1 slope definition, that is, add 1 to the y value, add -2 to the x value or
add -1 to y and +2 to the x

other points:
(0,9) (-1,11) (-2,13) , (notice the slope between any pair is -2)
