Look at a 30-60-90 ° triangle
the sides opposite these angles are 1 , √3 and 2 respectively.

the slope of a line = tan (angle of the line)

tan 30 = 1/√3 = .577 appr.

So any line steeper than 30° will have a slope greater than .577
