Given:
e^(-2)=0.1353
Take (natural) log on both sides:
log(e^(-2))=log(0.1353) ...(1)

Since log(base n)n^x = x
then log<sub>e</sub>e^x = x

We rewrite the previous expression (1) as
-2 = log<sub>e</sub>(0.1353)
or
log<sub>e</sub>(0.1353) = -2
