An equation is a statement of equality containing one or more variables.
To solve an equation means, find the value of the variable for which the equation satisfy
An example of an equation is x + 5 12.
Solution:
x + 5 = 12
x = 12 - 5
x = 7
7 is a solution of the equation x + 5 = 12.
Because
x + 5 = 12
7 + 5 = 12
12 = 12
Since both sides are, 7 satisfy to equation.
