    100/7=14 + Remainder 2
1000/7=142 + Remainder 6
So number of multiples between 100 and 1000 is 142-14=?

1000/7=142 + Remainder 6
So number of multiples between 100 and 1000 is 142-14=?

When you divide 100 by 7 you are actually trying to figure out how many are between 1 and 100 which is 14 with a remainder of 2. Next you have to figure out how much is between 1 and 1000 since you can't just stay with that 14. There are 142 multiples of 7 between 1 and 1000 with a remainder of 6. You have to subtract 142 by 14 since we don't need to know how many are between 1 and 100 so you get 128.

100/7= 14 R2 142
1000/7= 142 R6 -14=128

100/7= 14 R2 142
1000/7= 142 R6 -14=128
