1) Differentiate the following:

a) y=(x^3+5x)^6 (x^2+1)^7

(6(x^3+5x^)^5 * 3x^2+5) + (7(x^2+1)^6 *2x) * (x^3+5x)^6

b) y=(x+1)^2 / x^2

(2(x+1)*1) * (x^2) - 2x *(x+1)^2 all over (x^2)^2

Are these correct?

2 answers

(6(x^3+5x^)^5 * 3x^2+5) + (7(x^2+1)^6 *2x) * (x^3+5x)^6
add ( paren
(6(x^3+5x^)^5 * (3x^2+5) + (7(x^2+1)^6 *2x) * (x^3+5x)^6
2x(x+1) all over x^4
2(x+1)/x^3

the first one can be simplified further as well, like take out (x^3+5x)^5 for starters
