a diver dove 94 meters and rose 2 meters every minute for 8 minutes. Where is the diver in relation to the surface? The answer to me would be 94 - 16 = 78 meters. Why is this wrong?

a diver dove 94 meters and rose 2 meters every minute for 8 minutes...

This might help!

That doesn't help. That is what I put down for my answer. 2 meters every minute for 8 minutes is 16 meters. 98 - 16 = 82, sorry I put down the wrong number before.

82 is not right for some reason. On the work sheet the feedback sais this is wrong because there needs to be a computation of other than what I put down, but what?

Could it mean that he dove 94 metres AND rose 2 metres every minute, meaning he dove 92 metres deeper every minute?
