can someone tell me how to cite a source like this: Asthma and sinusitis solutions have been recognized in the years past by the medical community [1]

Those are called footnotes. I would give you some links, but I can't. I would just recommend googling "footnotes" for some relevant information.

Hold your cursor over CITING SOURCES and click on the type of resource you are referring to (book, magazine article, etc.). It'll show you how to cite in your paper itself as well as how to list the item in the Works Cited page. There's also a section that gives instruction on setting them up as footnotes.
