can someone tell me how to cite a source like this: Asthma and sinusitis solutions have been recognized in the years past by the medical community [1]

**But the bracketed 1 ([1]) is a superscript on community.**

What is that citation called? and where can I read about it on the internet?
I hope you don't get confused on what I'm trying to say. :)

Those are called footnotes. I would give you some links, but I can't. I would just recommend googling "footnotes" for some relevant information.

This is one of the best sites online that give clear instruction on how to cite sources. Hold your cursor over CITING SOURCES and click on the type of resource you are referring to (book, magazine article, etc.). It'll show you how to cite in your paper itself as well as how to list the item in the Works Cited page. There's also a section that gives instruction on setting them up as footnotes.
