i do not understand how to solve for x and y can someone please explain it to me.
an example of the problem i am workin on is 6x-4y=72

With this minimal data, just manipulate the equation so one is alone on one side of the equation.

6x - 4y = 72

x = (72+4y)/6

Do the same for y.
