1) D. no relationship? but they both tell that River Song is a person..so does that change the answer?

I think you're right about 1 -- D (unless a screwdriver is a known tool for archeologists).
I think 2 can only be (a) entails (b). All of (b) is included in (a), but not <i>vice versa.</i>
