I need to write an essay using the second amendment controversy with gun control as proof that the Bill of Rights is at an unhealthy state. I am going to focus on misleading ideologies surrounding guns and gun control and propose that proper gun education and knowledge is a solution. I am having a hard time constructing a concrete thesis statement and would like any help at all. Thanks in advance.

First of all, I see one major thing occurring in our country today that runs counter to anything you might propose: all the illegally bought and sold guns throughout the country.

How would you bring all the people who engage in those activities into your plan?

I don't think that controversy about one or a few amendments means that the Bill of Rights is in an unhealthy state. The authors of these Amendments were involved in controversy -- which is a vital part of democracy.

I suggest you rethink the focus of your essay.
