Verbs show action or state of being.
Linking verbs (state of being verbs) link the subject with its synonym or an adjective in the predicate.
Examples:
She IS a great teacher.
This SEEMS difficult.
Action verbs show action.
Examples:
The girls WERE JUMPING rope.
I THINK you are right.
We WENT to Grand Canyon.
Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives and other adverbs. They tell when, where, why, how, and to what extent.
Examples:
He USUALLY comes home about four o'clock.
The skaters moved QUICKLY.
I've NEVER heard of that movie.
