Question
i actually have two questions.
- the edge of one cube is 4 m shorter than the edge of a second cube. the volumes of the two cubes differ by 1216m^3. find the edge of the smaller cube.
- the sum of the squares of the two larger of three consecutive even integers is 12 less than 4 times the square of the smaller one. find the intergers
Please and Thank-you(:

Answers
1. Let x = side of the smaller cube and x+4 = side of other. Then
(x+4)^3 - (x^3) = 1216
Solve for x.
2. If x = smallest even integer, x+2 = next and x+4 = largest
(x+2)^2 + (x+4)^2 = 4x^2 - 12
Solve for x.
(x+4)^3 - (x^3) = 1216
Solve for x.
2. If x = smallest even integer, x+2 = next and x+4 = largest
(x+2)^2 + (x+4)^2 = 4x^2 - 12
Solve for x.
