you put y on one side so its x=3-y
then substitute that into the bottom equation. so you get 3(3-y)+2y=2
which is 9-3y+2y=2 then just solve for y.
y=7
then substitute that into the bottom equation. so you get 3(3-y)+2y=2
which is 9-3y+2y=2 then just solve for y.
y=7
