A 5.0 kg bullet hits a 2.0 kg block of wood at 400. m/sec and is imbeeded in it. What will be the velocity of wood and bullet after impact?

Try applying the Law of Conservation of Momentum. It isn't hard.

Initial momentum = Final momentum

The bullet and block have the same velocity the bullwet is embedded.
