Another question on Black Beauty...What breed is he?

I don't think Anna Sewell mentioned the breed in the book. However, he was played by a quarter horse in the movie. Some claim he was Arabian.

Thoroughbred is not a breed. It just means that his parents and ancestors were all of the same breed.
