I believe the pros outweigh the cons, but it really depends on the context and goals of urban planning. If the focus is on sustainability and efficient use of land, then the pros of vertical cities may outweigh the cons. However, if the priority is privacy and environmental concerns, other Urban planning solutions might be better. An even approach with the vertical cities will allow plenty of benefits, as long as you understand the risks of the cons.
