Distinguish between the view of matter and energy in microscopic world and view matter and energy in the quantum mechanical world.

I do not understand this question, i tried googling it, but hardly got something to give me an idea about.
Please help.

I think the question is trying to get at that in nature we tend to view energy and matter (=mass) as separate quantities. Whereas in the quantum mechanical world there is a relationship between energy and matter (=mass) through E=mc^2
