This battle was located in South Carolina, from April 12th to the 14th later that month in 1861. The Confederacy side was the General Beauregard. The Union side was directed by Anderson. The Union was over confident with their fighting strategies and thought this would be an easy fight that would be over in less than 3 months! The South outwitted them in this battle at the Charleston Harbor, with their next victory close at hand!
The Union then saw what the Confederate side was capable of a prepared better for the next battle and next battle until they finally would win. The decided to use a better General so they brought in General Ulysses S. Grant who won 3 battles. The Union would soon win the war. However, the Civil War would not settle all the disputes the country had, there would be more to come.
