Let the width of the first be x
then the length of the second is x+6
the width of the second is x+3
the length of the second is x+4
then 2((x+3) + (x+4)) = 54
etc
This is a five step problem:
The width of a rectangle is 6 cm less than the length. A second rectangle, with a perimeter of 54 cm, is 3 cm wider and 2 cm shorter than the first. What are the dimensions of each rectangle.
I just don't understand how to write the equation, if anyone can give me that, I will be fine the rest of the way.
Thank You.
