    You should be able to reach a gauge pressure of -760 mm Hg (perfect vacuum), unless:
(1) you have a leak or outgassing
(2) you have a poor vacuum pump
(3) atmospheric pressure is 759 mm Hg due to altitude or barometric pressure change (stormy weather)
