1/2 to the power of x = 1152

what is "x" in this situation? please help!

1 answer

(1/2)^x = 1152

rewrite as,
2^(-x) = 1152
Take the logarithm to the base 2 of both sides:
-x log 2 = log 1152
-x = (log(1152))/(log(2))
Divide both sides by -1:
x = -(log(1152))/(log(2))
x = - 3.061452/0.3010299
x = -10.1699
