Chu and Juan are each saving to buy the same two cd's. Chu is lacking $22 and Juan is lacking $3. When they combine their money they still do not have enough to buy the two cd's. What is the greatest number of whole dollars the two cd's could cost?

I don't think this problem is correct or that it can be solved. Either that, or the problem is poorly worded (to me).

If they are each saving to buy the same CD's and Juan is only short $3.00, how can it be that when they combine their money they still do not have enough.
(Juan only needs $3.00 more)?
