Why did you multiply 9 * 9?
9x + 7=5
Subtract 7 from each side.
9x + 7 - 7 = 5 - 7
9x = -2
x = -2/9
this problem looks incorrect in my opinion not sure about it I followed the steps but it still doesn't look right. trying to find out what the x is = to
9x + 7=5
So I do 9x9=81
81+7=88
So what I did was 88-5= 83
x83?

Hi Ms. Sue,
I thought I needed to because of the x and the + sign had me thinking it was multiply then add the subtract. UGH it's my fault because I keep forgetting about the other rules that apply to doing theses types of problems. I'm not good in math at all so many different ways and rules to remember I confuse myself all the time.Thank you once again for helping out. *SMILE*

You're welcome.

Ms. Sue how much does your tutoring services cost? That's if you even do it besides online.
I only volunteer to tutor online. I do not have a private tutoring practice and I do not have any personal contact with students.
:( but I understand I believe an unasked question is the wrong question. But thank you for taking the time to even answer the question so I'll let you get back to work **SMILE**
